We used sound in our documentary to make I more interesting and entertaining for the audience. As the target audience was young adults, we made sure our music reflected this.

Stupid Girls by Pink:
Used in documentary using cosmetic scenes out of music video, made sure relevant to topic. Also used the audio file when voice over introduces the cosmetic surgery topic.

Nodody's Perfect by Jessie J:
Used at the start of our documentary in our title sequence and also radio trailer. As a group, this song inspired us to chose the title of our documentary.

As a group, gave out our questionaires to members of our target audience for some constructive feedback for our 3 products: documentary, print advert and radio trailer. Firstly we did this with other groups in our class, and then we gave out qustionaires to our peers and family. Overall, our feedback was mostly positive with praise given to us for our professionalism in camera work and editing. Most of our feedback commented on how well we had used our topic to suit our target audience of young adults and also the use of useful information given if watched by more young adults. However, we were criticized because sometimes documentary did not flow at all times and certain cutaways could have  been more relevant to what was being said in the interviews.

NEWSPAPER AVERTISEMENT PRODUCTION

PICTURES:

These are the different pictures we took for our newspaper advert, we decided on one picture that would effectively represent our topic etc.

This is our chosen image.

Using photoshop, the final we picture we chosen was edited in order to create a bigger image on the adverts and to make it to a professional standard. We also added our scheduling with the fonts available on the programe and also the channel 4 logo. Everything we included were important codes and conventions of pront adverts in newspapers.

After cutting out the image out carefully, we added the channel 4 logo to the roght hand side of the A4 page with also including text at the right hand side corner with appropiate font that was relevant to the documentary.
As you can see the text included:
"Does my bum look big in this"
Nobody's Perfect
Thursday 9PM, Channel 4.

Then we moved on to the outling of the text and we decided to use a white background so that our text would stand out. This is an important code and convention of print ads ad the text needs to indent on the page.

This is the text tool:

Realsing that the channel 4 logo was too small, we decided that it needed to be slighlty bigger. Pressing Ctrl+T enabled this. We then dragged the corner with our mouse and proceeded.

DRAFTING NEWSPAPER ADVERTISMENTS

IDEAS:
- our ad will include an image of a persons bum showing the top if it slightly (the image will cover the whole of the A4 page
- Sheduling and slogan and title of documentary on right hand side (bottem)
- channel 4 logo on left hnd side
- Slogan: "Does my bum look big in this?"
- it would include our scheduling (Thursday 9PM, Channel 4)
This would all be n the right hand side of the print (at bottem)
- it would include the channel 4 logo
This would be on the left handside of the print ad.

- has a strong theme in both newspaper advert and radio trailer (continuity).

RECORDING AND EDITING RADIO TRAILER

RECORDING IN ICE RADIO:
We recorded our radio trailer in a radio studio inside school. We made we had no interuptions and that everything said was captured clearly.

We then used Premire Pro ao that we could cut and edit of radion trailer where appropiate.

EDITING:
Here are some pictures of how we editied:

This is an example of our radio trailer being edited on the program, Premiere Pro. We had to carefully edit each clip so that nothing was cut of. We had to make sure our embedded music did not over power the commentary and clips from our documentary in our radio trailer.

SCRIPTING VOICEOVER

Body image is considered to be a massively important factor in a person life whether they are male or female. For girls, makeup is a key ingredient for perfecting the way you look. The beauty industry brings in about 250 million pounds in the UK alone. This is a staggering amount to spend on something you wipe of each night.

On the other hand, weight is also a common problem in everyday life with some cases going to the extreme causing anorexia or obesity. A healthy but time consuming way to lose weight is Weight Watchers. This gives people the stability when wanting to lose weight.

Cosmetic surgery in some cases is a life threatening choice; however, some procedures can only take 20 minutes. Carol Mclaughan tells us about her experience.

PHOTOGRAPHS OF EDITING

Throughout the editing process, we used the program, Adobe Premiere Pro. This was so that our documentary was to a professional standard. Our group was entitled to many tools on this program that enabled use to create various cuts, graphics and to edit the interviews and cutaways easily.

The program we used to create our documentary.

This is an example of our documentary edited on Premiere Pro. Here you can see the time line in which we edited our filming into our finished documentary.

This tool shows where we have uploaded each clip that we filmed. After uploaded we then drag the selected clip onto the time line where we can play around with it and edit it till seen as a professional piece of film.

This shows the tool bar that enables you to edit your filming. The selected tool shown was used to cut precisely in the right places. By using this tool, we were enabled to delete certain parts we didn't want.

This is an example of how we used the title tool to create graphics for our interviews as it is an important convention in documentary as it provides the audience information. The tool also enabled us to choose font and color that was appropriate for our documentary. In addition, it gave us the choice of where to position it on the screen.

As you can see, our audio was put into the time line such as our voice over and the various music we used. This was placed separately to the filming so that the music didn't overlap the filming. Again, by using this time line, we were enabled to cut, edit and fade in and out.
